Invitation to Trial Package Tour

[Difficulties and distress Namie-machi town officials faced on March 11, 2011]

Situated leaning through actual experience and the transition the town officials have been facing just after the Great East Japan Earthquake*

*Situated learning: a learning method to learn from simulated experience of the person concerned.

Soma and Futaba District Human Tourism Committee (office: 2-22 Satsuki-cho Fukushima-shi, Fukushima, director: Nagamasa Takahashi ) will conduct trial package tour of “Fukushima Fukushima Learning Tourism” on November 15 and 16, 2014, collaborating with Learning Initiative Inc. (Taiki Kitajima, representative director, Minato-ku, Tokyo). The trial tour will share special learning occasion only Fukushima can provide through knowledge, information, experience from unprecedented disasters.

People in Namie-machi, Soma and Futaba District have been making decisions over and over under the circumstance of uncertainty on everything just after the unprecedented “earthquake”, “tsunami”, and “nuclear accident”.
BFF expect that experience of Namie-machi will be practically applied in many enterprises, municipalities, and public organizations.

Fukushima Learning Tourism “Organisational behaviour in an unanticipated emergency learning from Namie Town Hall, Fukushima” Monitor Tour

Date: November 15 and 16, 2014: a two day and one night tour

Target: person in charge of disaster prevention and training of enterprise, public organisation
* Please contact if anyone beyond the target is interested in this trial package tour

Meeting: at West exit of Fukushima station at 12:00 on 15 November

Finishing: at West exit of Fukushima station at 18:30 (tentative) on 16 November

Content: The tour participants will learn knowledge on the field, details of Fukushima learning tourism, and leaning material about the Great East Japan Earthquake

Fee: free (this programme is subsidised by Fukushima prefectural government’s programme and it covers expenses of transportation, accommodation, and tour participation. Transportation to/from Fukushima and food expenses will not be covered.)

Itinerary:

  • Day 1: PM – simulated experience learning using by Namie-machi town office / Night – stay at Soma and Futaba district
  • Day 2: AM – courtesy visit to Namie-machi town office, and hearing on the situation of the time around the earthquake / PM – review and preparation of action plan
